Ashtray: In or Out?

In the 147 the only time the ashtray
was in the car was when i 1st picked
it up from the dealer and when i
left it back for the Brera

The Brera's was tiny, but just right
for holding €1 and €2 coins.

The 159's little central cubby is much
bigger without, so out it comes.
(And the cigar lighter as I have a stubby
USB thing in there instead. )

So....?

A thirsty 147

147 has ridiculous one, so damn tiny after Bravas. Actually, I use it from time to time... I like to relax myself on a nice 50 mph cruise with some good music on and a cigar(ette). Im just a too much of a hedonist, I know ull hate me all. So, leaving it in.

I don't understand

What do you achieve by taking it out, do you replace it with something

Originally I took it out to stop people using it on the sly.

But it's a useful little hidey hole.

In the 147 my automatic gate remote fitted perfectly.

In the 159 it means my phone fits perfectly in the centre cubby.

You would think they would make a useful gadget to fit in the slot where the ashtray normally goes for people who don't want an ashtray.

Mine is left in because it's meant to be there. There's nothing in it though......I can't stand anything in the car. I have a leaflet with recovery details in the glovebox, and an umberella in the boot. Nothing more.

Me too.

My pet hate is when the wife leaves hundreds of parking stickers in the car!

Mine has never been used, but I just leave it there as it fits in with the rest of the console, and looks O.K. Same as the Cigar lighter actually.....

In car ashtray. That's the handy box in the centre console that you use for car park change and a electric socket to power your sat nav / mobile?

Here's the USB gadget I have instead of the cigar lighter in the 159:

When I smoked, I never used the ashtrays in the car, always tipped my ash out of the window and (shamefully) threw the butts out.

But taking the ashtray out? Bit odd, that one
