Re: Does Alfa Romeo need a proper GT replacement?

I think so. Alfa hardly have the biggest range. I'm fairly sure they will replace it but i don't se why it would kill off the Brera.

still a pretty car the GTV compared to the GT imo, and mine does in excess of 150mph .
I do most of my touring in the wagon anyway the GTV is for fast fun

Re: Does Alfa Romeo need a proper GT replacement?

I say its on the way out for two reasons, I dont want it to be because I love the GT's looks.

I drive past E.S.Jones Alfa dealer on my way to work every day and they have a black 07 plate GT on the front and the price was 18,995 three months ago, three weeks ago it dropped to 17,995 and recently its now 15,995. Now even Alfas dont depreciate that fast, it just says to me the dealer wants rid to make way for the new boy.

Also the new GT's have all the goodies on them, another sign that these are run out cars.

I hope im wrong because My car will be worth nowt if a new model comes out - but thats just cars for you.

I thought the GTV was designed first, and then along came the spider

They were both designed by Pininfarina and were presumably 'similar' to keep costs down. I suspect that you could have made a fibreglass hardtop for the spider that turned the car into a GTV for all intents and purposes.

Why is it that white cars look cool everywhere else, but in Britain they looks like relics from Basildon ca. 1986?

Over here, we don't even have the option of, say, a white Brera (unlike the Italians). I'd say "and good luck to 'em too" except that I say a white GTV with black alloys in Malta last summer and it. Looked. Gorgeous.

A white Brera on darkened S alloys would do very nicely thakyouverymuch.

If we're talking automotive fantasy, then a replacement for the GT based on a shortened version of whatever the platform they buy in for the 169 (is the current rumour still the Jag XF?). So that rather than Alfa going head-to-head with the Laguna coupe, it has a practical but powerful RWD car to go up against the A5, CLK and 3-series - which, whatever else the GT is, doesn't happen now.

I wonder if you could get the tiny Brera back windows blanked out and classify it as a van for tax purposes? An ambulance for the very small?

My PC with photoshop on, is in bits at the moment - got to change the boost pipe on the GT first and then I will fix the PC and then I will finish of the 159 coupe.

Re: Does Alfa Romeo need a proper GT replacement?

Surely we must consider the Brera to be 1. The replacemnet of the GTV and 2. A "Alfa 159 coupé". No?

Alfa logic would give us a little more practical 149 coupé a longside with the less practical Brera.
