I like the GT, and think it serves it's niche well. It's the Brera that's kind of the odd one out
And the GTV was quick? I don't think so except in Cup form. And I bet a Brera S 3.2 would beat a GTV Cup on the twisties.

Never Driven a V6 Brera but I do know that the V6 GTV was nose heavy and the twinny GTV would probably have both of them off on the twisties

I drove a V6 Brera round Oulton Park at last years Cloverleaf track day, one of the Alfa guy's admitted that they wouldn't let anyone drive the Q2 GT around the track as it was quicker.

Not so sure HM - remember the V6 Brera has FWD and is very well planted.

Doesn't the V6 Brera come in FWD & 4WD flavours?

alfa just keep coming back with gt in different images. I dont think the brera is seeling as well as they hoped and consequently they are keeping with the sexiest coupe in different formats.

I think the Brera is selling quite well now after a very slow start.

Perhaps something can be done with the new 149 platform but otherwise, I don't see Alfa spending a penny to facelift or update the GT.

The GTV Cup wasn't any quicker than the normal 3.0, though. Only differences were the different coloured wheels, the body kit and the seats.

I think the cloverleaf will be the run-out model. The chassis is too old to do much more with.

To be honest I think they struggle in the same line up already. I think the GT has done Alfa proud as they already had 80% of it and just had to chuck a body on. Although I supose if they did something similar with the 159 2or3 years down the line when the Berea was coming to the end of its days it wouldn't hurt. which I suppose is what they did with the GTV/GT isn't it?

Re: Does Alfa Romeo need a proper GT replacement?
The GT will just look better and better with age. It is a sort of modern Guilia Bertone or Alfasud Sprint, small and pretty and elegant.
I own a 159, and really, its just a bit too big; the Brera is a bit too G&T at the golf club on the way home from work; and the Spider is enormous for a car descended from the tiny Guilietta Spiders of the 1950s.
The GT is the 'sleeper' in Alfas range and is very competeively priced.
Wish I had one.

You could just swap cars?
I know exactly what you are getting at though. Next time around I would probably want a bit more space, but I don't want something as big as a 159. A Brera with an extra four inches of rear leg room would be perfect....
