National Stay At Home Day

Ok, for all those that live in Britain. Would you be willling to take part in a 'Stay At Home' day in protest at the rising cost of living here in Britain?

That means a whole day, (a business day, not weekend) 24 hours, with no work, no shopping, just a day where the people of this country were completely economically inactive.

The knock on effect would be enourmous if it were taken on board by enough people, and it would send out a far more noticeable message than a few thousand signatures on an e-petition.

So with enough support, would you be willing to do it?

The War On Terror is over...
...The Terrorists won.

Re: National Stay At Home Day

Yeah, I would. It would have a knock on effect throught out the economy. But like everything else that is done, it would be of very little consequence

Yep! front runner on this one, for me. But as this is a normality, I guess my being here would have little or no effect?:

Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, and Yes. I would be well up for it.

It needs to happen about once a month though as it may just get called another bank holiday.

I will view the linky when I get home as it won't work for in the office.

Although I completely agree with your aims it's not my employers fault that the country is run by a bunch of rule making do gooders who can't stop spending other peoples money.

Re: National Stay At Home Day

Moaning about the rising cost of living and bunking off won't help.

We still all want an inflation busting pay-rise every year and the Chinese won't give a stuff that we're having a day off, as they remorselessly put us out of business.

Really if you want to reduce the "cost of living" you should advocate that everyone - including those poor single mums on benefit, Social Security scroungers and the legions of "too ill to work" (but not too ill to play golf) - work 14 hours a day for half their present wages.

Or move to China.

That'll make "living" very cheap indeed.

Re: National Stay At Home Day

If the government stopped wasting taxpayers money they could afford to tax us less, that would help out a lot with the cost of living.

Re: National Stay At Home Day

Maybe we should have a "National park your car in the middle of the road" day. And bring the country to a halt that way.
