Justified or double standards???

So walking down from work to the train station, I see a smart car with a CCTV camera sticking out of the roof. If you know London/Charing cross area, it was at the bottom of St Martins Lane.

It was there in the morning at 11:00AM and still there 22:00, I reckon monitoring the junction as you cannot turn right and many people do often causing minor jams.

Now the thing is, to get a view of the junction the CCTV Smart was parked on double yellow line. Now the road is wide enough and to be honest I don't think the double yellows should be there, but none the less the law is the law.

So do you think it is justified to park on double yellow lines (no parking) to monitor a junction where people break the law, or is this double standards?

This is a clear case of one rule for them and one for us....almost as bad as their sneaky mobile patrols hidden in residential areas normally behind a large protruding hedge, nice easy revenue.

If they caught me with that trick - I would take a pic and use it as evidence in court.

You never know the judge may not be best pleased.

I don't know for certain, but I'd be willing to wager that they have a get-out clause that allows them to do it.

No it's not right, but it's the surveilance society we live in nowdays. they're watching you. Always.

To uphold the law you cannot break the law!

Right, that's the pious bit out of the way.... you should have got hold of an old banger and crashed into it then sued the ass of them!!

Re: Justified or double standards???

It's clearly a case of double standards and should not be condoned.
