In my opinion this is because of the no-thread-reuse policy of this forum and can't be remedied by fine-graining of model lounges. Someone opens a thread on "diesel noise", it gets some replies in a couple of days and sinks to page 2 after a week at most. Then another user opens the next "diesel noise" thread etc, etc. Just do a search for "diesel noise" (or "cambelt snapped" ) and you will see what I mean.

Yes, but it is cobbled together in a very beautiful way.

I'm not voting 'coz I have no strong feelings either way.

As we are considering a GT for MrsJim this summer, I would just say that I know full well what is under that lovely skin and if I had tech problems I'd be quite happy finding them in 147/156 as appropriate.

I agree but it depends how you use the forum -

If you want or need to use the forum as an encyclopedia type resource then the search tool will serve you well. I doubt however that those with 10,000+ posts see it as an encyclopaedia - they participate because they enjoy doing it not solely to ask or indeed answer questions.

I [and presumably others] like to browse - reading posts for general information - it is entertaining and some posts are downright hilarious. Unfortunately I can't browse anymore because the GT info is lost in the sea of posts and it wasn't before in the old GT/GTA lounge.
