Same here but vice-versa

Sometimes I see a prticularly good example of a pre. and think hmmm, love those jewell like lights...

Then I get home and see our facelift and say to myself hmmmm, love those jewell like lights......

Well Happy Re: 147 - Old or new

I have to say i like the pre face-lift having owned one for two year,s, but having just bought a face lifted model today and looking at several up close for the last few weeks i have to admit the new one is better the lights are more streamlined and it works better with the rest of the lines on the car,

Re: 147 - Old or new

Always liked the look of the 147 . The series 1 has retro style front end and that appeals to me but I prefer the series 2 design as it is, imo, more balanced and more sporty. The crop of specials, the Ti, Collezione and Ducati have all added substantially to the appeal of the 147 as have some of the new colours. Its interesting to see that the 147 is selling stronger than ever in Italy. Series 2 it is for me!

Re: 147 - Old or new

There aren't many cars that look better face lifted. The original 147 was designed to be that way and styling wise thats the way it is. However, I have no doubt that the facelifted model is the better car: better built, faults eliminated.....

Same with the 156 but I really really liked the widebody 155!!!

Re: 147 - Old or new

I honestly dont think the new face suits the car. It looks fantastic on the 159, absolutely sublime infact, but i think the size of the 147 means the new face doesnt sit right. Maybe if they had done more with the rear then it might have made more of an impact but to me the old style suits it more. Although i do agree that the build quality is probably far better now that a german is in charge.
