scrapping an alfa?

Is anyone scrapping any alfas?
I need a part for my 99 GTV but is prolly present on other models of that period.
It's a spring from the rear caliper. There's a return spring on them that pulls the handbrake back off again after you release it and one of mine is missing. The spring is quite obvious if you look under the rear of the car....Has anyone got one??

Thanks,
Simon

Re: scrapping an alfa?

I had a look at the rear callipers on brakeparts.co.uk, and the springs on the 156 and GTV are completely different.

I'll get a pic of mine today for you to have a look at....

Re: scrapping an alfa?

Surely a part as little as that would be pretty cheap from the dealer?

If its secondhand and metal,is it not likely to break in the near future again,as any small metal component that is open to the elements has a limited lifespan.

Re: scrapping an alfa?

I know and I want to buy one new, but I'd have to purchase a whole new caliper according to alfa and ebspares! So the only option is secondhand!

Surprised they're different on a 156! but thanks for the info. The search continues.
