After 5 years it's time to part with my trusty old 146 Boxer. Can't afford to keep so many cars.
I think it may be worth more in parts than as a whole car, so will consider breaking it. The car is in full running order. It has mot for another couple of months yet but is SORN. It had no advisory notes on the last mot and hasn't done many miles since.
I am advertising the engine and gearbox. I will not break the rest of the car unless these are sold first as I will need to keep the car mobile so people can hear the engine running / drive it.
Engine: Uses no oil, starts 1st time every time. Never let me down. Has done 110k miles but runs very sweetly with no nasty noises. Cambelts were done at huge expense at an Alfa specialist a few years ago at 78k - original belt up to this point (Still have receipt). Clutch replaced at around 90k. ECU can be supplied with two keys, a red one and the all important master key, along with the code card.
Gearbox: Good condition. Makes no nasty noises and the synchro's are all ok. Was replaced with a lower mileage gearbox when I did the clutch. Original had an oil leak so ran low and got very noisey. So has done less miles, approx 80-90k. It has a steel sump / bottom cover from a 33 fitted. It is 145/6 gearbox as I picked it up from the breakers and saw the car. I was the one who fitted the steel sump as there was a small crack in one of the fins from storage (bought it prior to doing the clutch so had it stored in my garage for a while) I fitted a steel 33 sump from a dead gearbox, couldn't get hold of a 145/146 alloy sump.
I would sell the car as a whole for a reasonable offer, or will break. I'm not selling silly little things until the engine and box are gone. I really don't want to kill it so if anyone is interested in the whole car....
Please contact if you are interested, to make an offer or for more info. Based near Stansted Airport. J8 M11. Could deliver for a price (in the boot of my other car!) Or meet part way etc if need be. Collection would be prepared though and you could have as many parts as you like then!
