Never liked the 306. Always looked like they
hadn't bothered with the design.

I'd prefer a ZX Volcane over that. (Same chassis, same engines.)

Pretty sure the engine is different; I would guess that the ZX had the S16 unit which was around 150BHP not the 167BHP engine in the GTI6 (realised in late 1996)

I think the 306 debate is over now mate.

Incidentally, the Gti6 engine never went in the ZX, only the Xara. The S16 engine was used in the Volcane. Chassis' werent the same either.

Just noticed how old the thread was.

Vetch....It was you who text me a couple of weeks back about my 147 (with Angel re-map and CDA) wasn't it? I used my powers of deduction after you mentioned your 306 and I remembered this very thread

Are you still after one?

The thing about Alfa's is, they arent always the fastest, and they dont always drive the best, but they are stylish and rare. And they make you feel good.

Jealous of the looks and style, no doubt about it. My 8 year old french ****bucket would still outhandle and show a clean pair of heels to all but the 3.0 V6's/GTA's on here though.

Re: Alfa 147 OUT 306 GTi6 IN

I quite like the GTI-6, though I have never owned one.
The 147 doesn't really compare though as the Pug is a souped up shopping trolley where as the 147 is a bit more grown up.

I would be happy with either.

Re: Alfa 147 OUT 306 GTi6 IN

I am thinking of buying a 182 Renault sport Clio at some stage, the amount of power in small car is quite appealing to me.
