Moody's has now upgraded Fiat's credit rating to "investment grade" (specifically Baa3), so now all three major rating agencies deem Fiat's credit to be strong. Positive news for Fiat's borrowing strategy

Basically the company is seen as having stronger finances and if they need to borrow money to expand their business, they can do so at a cheaper rate than they could have earlier

I think Fiat is doing the right thing by shutting down plants a little bit. In the past, they might have just plugged on till it was too late.
