Funnily enough, I was coming back from two weeks in Gower when I saw the one I was talking about.

If you saw the Top Gear test on the Merc AMG Black thingy it was stopped at a cafe just along the road from us. And I've just watched the test on the GTR in Japan and my wife agrees that we need to go there. I was in Japan many years ago for a few days but I think the skiing in 2009 now looks to be on the cards.

Lots of Alfas in Gower, saw three different black Breras.

Re: Bmw X6

i can see plently of footballers choosing one of these.
The first time I clapped eyes on one was at a motor show and didnt think it looked that bad for what it was in the context of the show and all the other (white) beemers. I have since seen one on the road and literally laughed out loud at it at how wrong it looked. I then felt a slight feeling of unease at the prospect of them becoming a common sight on the roads.
as biggie said, i do hope they are a failiure in terms of sales.

You could put a BMW badge on
a cow turd and it'd sell.

Re: Bmw X6

I'm sure the X6 is very fast and very good etc and it may even be a whole new class of car (a SAC of coupe).
But as biggbn said, it won't sell for any of the official reasons the marketing department use to justify its existence. Nobody needs a Sports Activity Coupe. It'll sell because it's huge and very very aggressive-looking and wears the right badge.
Calling all Small men who thought the X5 wasn't angry enough and the Dodge Ram was too 'country' - your new car has arrived!
Props to BMW for turning out all the weird designs of the last few years. They keep things interesting and some of the designs almost work.

"When there's a new Alfa, sales are very good at first," said the company's Italian spokesman, "but people don't come back for another one."
