Re: Maserati GranTurismo Convertible

Yes and it keeps it separate and distinct from the Ferrari California, which is based on the same platform but gets all the latest Ferrari technology (direct injection, dual clutch, ceramic brakes, launch control, etc).

Have you ever noticed that people tend to look really awkward sat in the back of four seater convertibles?

It's like they feel that they are on show and have to look like they're living the dream, so they sit there with fake smiles pretending that they're living the dream but actually they just look like complete gormless planks.

Convertibles should have two seats. And you should never have two people of the same sex in a two seater convertible. It always looks wrong.

That's what I think anyway.

I know what you mean about the rear seats thing.. But I've driven around in an MX-5 with a male friend and it didn't feel weird. I hope it didn't look weird!

I've been in a Z3 with a male friend; I was the passenger and just wanted to sink down in my seat so as not to be spotted. Very difficult in a badly driven convertible along a specially chosen route on a sunny evening in front of as many people as possible.

Women seemed to love the car though; a couple of my mate's female friends were practically dehydrating at the sight of the BMW and I was just sat there thinking ''if only they knew'... sad thing is my Alfa, a far superior car, wouldn't have got a look in!
