Re: BMW WOW!! Bangle's latest creation.
This is truly awesome, I read about it earlier today.
Only problem I can see is that instead of cars being key'd, they'd now get scissored. You just know kids will cut out door panels and make themsleves t-shirts or whatever like a badge of honour.
Seriously though, I love the concept. It's brilliant that things fold away when not needed.

Re: BMW WOW!! Bangle's latest creation.
it would be good to see how the glass would work in the doors!
wicked all the same, wonder if stones would just bounce off that stuff at 70mph or rip straight through?

It scared me silly. No car should ****ing blink at you from across the car park! I'm sorry but wouldn't like that crap all over my alfa.

Re: BMW WOW!! Bangle's latest creation.
it's a great idea. I've always wanted a car that can kinda morph a bit. It would be boxy for easy parking, then go all sleek and aero when pressing on. I'm really interested in this concept. It's neat.

A bit of lateral thinking, but the cost and complication of the skeleton must be stupendous.

Spaceframes covered in cloth; a technique that has been used in aviation since its very beginning, and still is. So it's definitely not all wrong. I always like it when cars inherit attributes from planes.
Nice one Mr. B. Oh, and the new M1 is rather good too

Re: BMW WOW!! Bangle's latest creation.
I like the bit where the bonnet kind of splits open over the engine. And the inflating headrests. Don't know why.
Also noticed a typical BMW design feature: no indicators. Nice touch.

Ahh, a Z4 that has been repaired by Pikies, who don't realise that you have to smooth over filler before respraying the car.
I would take the Competezione any day!!!
