True, when the F355 came out people rounded on the 348 for its evil handling - the 355 was perfect. Then when the 360 came out, it was a blessed relief from the 355 which had practically no usable torque - the 360 was perfect. Then when the 430 came out, it was a revelation because it didn't have the 360's terrifying nervousness at the limit - no question, the 430 is perfect.
I can't wait for the next small Ferrari, so the journos can tell us what fatal flaws there are with the 430.
I'm sure you've done your research Graham, and a late 348TB (or ideally a GTB) is one of the cars that I've often thought about, and to be honest I still haven't dismissed it.
As long as you all go into it with your eyes open, you get a tight but workable agreement over use / abuse / maintenance / repairs, and - most importantly - as long as you're each prepared to write off your money if it comes to the worst (i.e. as long as your friendships are worth more than £6k) then go for it!
