I think Herr Porsche is aiming at world domination.... they also have their fingers in the trunk industry with MAN (who I work for) and Scannia

Just to give you an idea, Porsche's stock market value is about 20% bigger than Fiat.

And over 3 times that of General Motors

Porsche is an awesome brand, it's a licence to make money and I'm sure that accountants have a lot to do with whatever political in-wrangling is going on within the 'group'

Well, the "attacks" seem to have come straight from Mr Porsche. I think he's trying to flex his muscles ahead of the acquisition of the 20% or so shares needed to boost his stake to 51%.

Im not sure how these things work, but if Porsche got 51% does that mean they have a say in what VW and Audi, and anyone they have majority of, do? If so then i can fully understand how they are feeling. I dont rate Porsche's much. I dont see them as supercars and im sure that Audi wouldnt want them meddling with Lamborghini.

Re: VW and Porsche: things starting to heat up?

I must say, with the R8, Audi is demonstrating some serious technical know-how and a taste for higher-range models, and that's without the race pedigree of the brand.
So perhaps Porsche would be well inspired to re-orient Audi towards a top range of performance-plus-comfort saloons, and sub-Porsche coupes and coupe convertibles, with VW doing all the lower segments. Even the VW-Audi demarcation line has been blurrier, lately.

Yes, at 51% Porsche would be majority owner and VW become a subsidiary (any accountant here to confirm?), allowing them to appoint directors, etc.
