Ford Kuga
I'm needing something a little bigger than my 145 to lug windsurfing gear around in.
A lot of winsdurfers use transit vans but I don't think the neighbours would approve.
So just been to look at the Ford Kuga, which I have to admit I like a lot. In the flesh it looks good.
Titanium test drive organised for Tuesday.

Re: Ford Kuga
I do like the look of it and it seems to be a reasonable price.

Re: Ford Kuga
Hmmm jury out on this one, but I havent seen one yet as Dagenham motors has moved so I don't pass a Ford showroom anymore.
So basically its just a C-max on silly suspension? I think I'd rather have a C-max Titanium myself

Re: Ford Kuga
Agreed, they are very similar in many ways.
I just prefer the Ford's slighly more Volvo XC styling rather than the Nissan's Almera bubble car.

Don't you think the C-max is a bit soccer-mom in styling terms?

Re: Ford Kuga
I can't think of any reason why I would need (or want) a car like this.

Re: Ford Kuga
its ok but not only do designers have no imagination anymore, but those who come up with the names have none either, ford already used kuga/cougar although i think it was a Mercury cougar in the US.

Good point. The TV ad even goes on about starting with a blank canvas. Aye, right

Re: Ford Kuga
I'm thinking of buying one-or a Honda CRV.
I saw a black one today on the M6.

Re: Ford Kuga
Yesterday, I saw a Mazda. It looked like a people carrier, or maybe even a soft-roader, but it was really curvy, looked like a mix between the current RX-7 and a handsome estate/4wd. It was in a lovely almost Proteo-like red.
For the first time ever, I have seen a big SUV/PC and thought 'gosh that's nice'; it was a very handsome car.
I have no idea what type of Mazda it was though :-(

Just think these new line of normal MPV's on silly suspension are abit point less myself, as they dont really offer much more than the normal MPV that they are based on, more to do with looks really.
But if you like it then go for it, agree its better than Nissans one

Re: Ford Kuga
I've just got back from a test run and sorry to disappoint but it was really good.
Titanuim, tdci, awd, full leather. Handling was great, nice and tight. Engine and power delivery was smooth. Clutch and 6 speed gear box both light. I love the quick clear windscreens on Fords and the heated seats etc.
Bearing in mind that this is for lugging windsurfing boards around so no pretensions at being an off roader just the odd country track down to a beach occasionally.
So mightily impressed. It definately looks better in the flesh than the photos.
