Only a guess on my part, as I could not struggle with the effort of hard work contemplated, with it's transmission failure. The first motion shaft bearing was excessively noisy, plus I think the transfer gear bearings may have been eating through the gearbox casing. On her final journey, she was howling like a Banshee, and I struggled to get her into gear.
Fair do's though, she first displayed symptoms in that area last December, and never let us down completely.

: I have recently since read ,that particular transmission was frequently suspect at about 70-80K so we did well to clock 102,000 in the old girl.
