The LE (and the later Plus) have side skirt extensions and front bumper lips which makes quite a difference to the looks. I might buy some for mine yet.

i feel totally the opposite....ya cant improve on perfection and for me, the original unadorned shape is automotive perfection...i love the shape..i appreciate its a marmite car, but hey, it would be boring if we all had the same opinions eh???...
my car is totally standard and unabused..really...doctor owner, then fiat technician, then me...and im almost 40 and fat...so no burberry brigade here!!!!......cheers for the comments guys.....

Re: my coop..
the LE's seem to jump out at you, the WOW factor is immense. but the others, well, just look so boring and ugly.

Re: my coop..
It is a bit of a Marmite car. I love the styling but I will admit to liking the styling of the GTV even more.
Its also very fast and far more economical than you would imagine, has a decent boot and you can fit 2 humans in the back.
biggbn, have you any small issues with yours? Mine came with a few, but I am gradually working my way through them.
here is my one,

Re: my coop..
nice car bro..!!!.....issues..well, yes and no...!!!..i was lucky enough to find mine for £1500 with 114k miles and only two prev. owners..it has a fsh and has had the essential manifold upgrade, a new turbo etc.....however....i ran around in it thinking i had a cracking car..(which, essentially, i do...)..until a little more research showed that the car had had its belts done bang on time at 74k miles....but it was over 5 years ago!!!..and they were now due to be changed on time rather than mileage.....so i gingerly parked up and left the car well alone till i had sufficient funds...
....kinda went to town on it..rather than faff about with belts, i had the engine dropped, renewed all the belts and tensioners, put in a new clutch, water pump, thermostat, radiator and new rear wheel bearings....all usual coop bad points and not strictly necessarry on my car..but i just thought, hang it, best to 'future proof' it while i have the cash.....all parts were bought from alternative autos, who i cant recomend highly enough, great guys, great service, great prices..!!!...and iv now spent just over a grand on the car inc. parts and labour, which to be honest, i think was money well spent for peace of mind if nothing else!!!..i ask ya, jeeez, i MUST love the damn thing!!
touch wood, i have found the car to be turnkey reliable, before and after the work was done, very fast, practical, comfortable, and with the new thermostat in place, it rarely drops below 30mpg.....all the best with yours mate, believe me, they are worth the time/effort/money/mental anguish!!!!..gbn

Re: my coop..
I managed to get hold of mine by swapping my 156 TS, with Darren156 on here the Alfa was probably worth aroung £1800. I have also had a lot of work done to mine. It came to me with 73,000 on it, but with no proof of a cambelt change, it lookked very much like it had never had a belt change. I booked it in to get all of the belts and tensioners done, which cost me £600, the old belt was actually starting to crack, anf the aircon belt had sections missing from it.
Other than that I have spent money on a new thermostat, new lower wishbones, new track rod ends, new drop links, front strut top mounts, new bonnet supports (Bonnet wouldn't stay up), new tyres. I have also added the GTEC chip, Boost gauge, PRV boost controller and a set of colder plugs. I would geuess I have spent well over a grand as well.
I still have a few issues, there is a slight amount of play in the steering rack (re-con ones are £125 rom buypartsby), there is a scrape and dent on the passenger side (was there when I got it) the body shop wants £200 to fix.
I also have to get 2 new rear tyres soon, and my manifold ticks when cold. It does seem to be ok when hot so I will leave it for the time being.
I am pretty sure I have a boost leak from the original dump valve as well, which was probably caused by me setting the PRV too high after I installed it.. So I am now on the lookout for a Forge Recirculating valve.
Other than that she is ok, and I am very happy with it.

1997 Fiat Coupe 20 Valve Turbo. GTEC1 chip with 1.2 bar of boost. 260bhp at 5700rpm.

Re: my coop..
I love the look of the LE and the Plus with the side skirts. Mine is a late model with body coloured sills which I think is a nice compromise between the two looks. With all its nice (and quirky) details the coop still looks stunning to my eyes but it must have the right wheels. The 4 spoke 20VT wheel suits the car perfectly but I wish they did a 17" version of it.

Re: my coop..
I might get some LE skirts for mine sometime, it just depends on how the finances go.. I do think they make the car look better.
I was thinking of getting them fitted and painted at the same time I get the scrape on the rear 3/4 fixed. They will have to paint the black bits on the bumpers as well.
Better start saving.

I still loved that one as well though.

Re: my coop..
just drop both windows in the heat..then find a tunnel....select 2nd....floor it..repeat as many times as necessarry to chase the negative vibes away from your mind......there really is nothing like the sound of a turboed five pot......i owned a t5 volvo too and it made a lovely noise...even teh n/a audi 90 i had made cool music...its a strangely out of kilter, uneven sound...maybe thats why these cars appeal to unbalanced individuals like me....

Has yours got the original exhaust? Mine has the standard center box, and cat but the back box has been removed and a straight stainless pipe fitted with a stainless trim on the end. It sounds like a burble at low revs, and screams at the top.
I have also drilled the airbox as well, but the induction noise on turbo cars isn't anything too special, its there to gain me a few more bhp. (Hopefully)
