Re: Please stop me before it's too late!

I just picked up on this thread. I bought a PS3 recently and a copy of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. Under the GT TV option in the menu they interview the guy who designed the GT-R and the guy who does the GT games. He drives the GT-R on the Autobahn and round the Nurburgring. His GT-R obviously isn't limited as he hits 315Kmh on the Autobahn. The car also looks very good round a very cold and damp Nordschleife and they even get it a bit sideways too.

Still a Nissan though at the end of the day

Spoke to the dealer since I'd asked them to arrange a proper test drive and they said that HQ at the moment doesn't allow any test drives other than as passengers

The cars are massively oversubscribed and for whatever other reason Nissan thinks they need not allow prospective buyers to actually try their cars.

That's it, they can keep their souped up washing machine.
But that is no different than any "oversold" car. I never got to drive a 430 until I got one. Just order one.........

I know F SPIDER, but a Ferrari is a Ferrari (plus you had a 360 and knew what to expect anyway) not a Nissan. Plus you are in the US where it may be a little bit more difficult to arrange a test drive.

I sat in the bl00dy car but they just wouldn't let me drive it

With all due respect here BF, we're not talking about a Micra here. It's a special piece of kit, being made in small numbers.

it puts up more than enough performance to warrant inclusion among any of the 'top' marques around, and saying 'A ferrari is a ferrari, not a Nissan' is just badge snobbery. Especially when the GT-R is more than capable of leaving most Ferrari's (including the current generation) eating dust.

Incidentally I'd happily take the GT-R without a test drive if I could afford one. I'm not so sure I'd do that with a Ferrari.

Re: Please stop me before it's too late!

Horses for courses. I have test driven as special and exclusive pieces of kit as you call them and no one has told me I couldn't test them nor "please drive slowly as we are afraid you'll crash the car".

Furthermore, Nissan is trying to steal market share from performance car buyers, so not letting them try the car is a bad strategy as some customers may not quite trust what's written on paper before dishing out hard earned money for a car. I am one of them.

The stats mean nothing. A 360 Spider and Gallardo are similar on paper, I drove both and they were like chalk and cheese. The Ferrari was a real dog to drive, if I ordered one after a passenger lap I'd be fuming. The Gallardo however was an absolute joy to drive. The 'on paper' stats don't mention any of this, which is why I'd never buy a car without driving it first. Anyone who buys this car without first driving it is buying it to make a statement more than anything else.

As long as they have more buyers than cars, they can behave as annoying as a Ferrari dealer.............

Before you buy the nissan, have a serious look at the new Evo X.

You're regret it if you dont!
