New Caterham unvailed

Well, according to yahoo-news the fastest ever Caterham has been unvailed - although I'm not sure how this differs from the previous R500.

I still want one though

The Levante will make that 2.88 seconds look slow when it comes out.

I must admit, the R500 s-light will be one of the first cars I'd buy with my lottery winnings ... when I find that winning ticket floating in the breeze.

It's got different colours, it must be cooler!

Was the old one still using the K-series engine?
This new one is on a Ford based block.

I doubt it. I reckon that anything between 2.5 and 3 seconds is about as fast as you'll get a car to accellerate.
Evven with less weight and more power, you can only use that power if you can actually transmit it to the road. Given the limitations in size and material of even the best road-legal tyre, you're not going to get very much quicker than that at all.
