Nope, no drop (well, a couple of beers). But that about sums the car up. It's like a nice Japanese car.

Re: Was in an is200 today........
I have a soft spot for the IS200's though, they dont shout too much, or try too hard, have very happy owners (normally very high on JD power and the like I think).
They also hold their value well, and handle well enough.
The new Lexus IS-F is quite a car though, very fiesty, wouldn't mind a trying one of those out for a while.

Re: Was in an is200 today........
i nearly bought an is200 before this Alfa , i loved everything about it except i found it pretty poor performance wise , i should imagine the is300 is a little better. As for the new IS-F i love the look of that too. I bet thats a real hoot to drive.

That was the car i just sold to my father-in-law, To be honest, it was a great car, bulletproof, never broke down and really well built. A bit old-manish though!!

I've had two IS200's a silver v reg and a burnt orange (rust ) T reg - both superb cars, well built and as gra166lusso said bulletproof. I put 80k miles on the T reg in a year and it still drove like new ! my only complaint was the shift from 1st to 2nd is really really short.

Re: Was in an is200 today........
I was tempted to get the Altezza before the 156, makes up for the lack of power in the IS200. Fuel economy is ment to be poor though. What did ye get with the IS200's?

Re: Was in an is200 today........
Is the Lexus IS / Toyota Altezza FWD or RWD?
I hear the Altezza with the Beam's engine in is an absolute corker

Same here, not disappointed I went for the Alfa, and the Is300 is not much better, which was a surprise 0-60 in around 8 seconds but i still have a soft spot for them!

Re: Was in an is200 today........
I test drove an IS220d about two years ago and it was quite a nice car to sit in, but the turbo lag on it was horrendous. Getaways at roundabouts were buttock clenching to say the least

Re: Was in an is200 today........
I quite liked the look of the old is200 from the outside but thought the interior was hideous - it reminded me of a 1980's Aiwa hifi system.
The is220 was bland to the nth degree.

I prefer the old one to the new one as well, but I think the interior is smart in a minimalistic sort of way. Nothing like a modern Alfa interior, and on balance not quite as nice, but a still perfectly usable, ergonomic and still a fine place to be..
