Re: 1969 Fiat 500, under restoration!
The 500 is now finished!
Here are the final pics taken at my parent's house. The old petrol pump sits at the corner of their cottage and lights up at night

Neat, PG. Dinky wee puddle jumper. : Is that a Batley, self assembly garage in the background perchance? Maybe not, I'm just curious, as I assembled one as my first under cover workshop, which I had bought on the never-never!

I didn't take the pics - Dad did
Not sure about the garage Zed. It could be. It is sectional.

Re: 1969 Fiat 500, under restoration!
I'd be interested to know, PG? : Just mention to Dad, I used ICI Permobel, and Valflash in one of those sectionals back when, doing the odd respray in it. He may remember those synthetics for a cut-cost respray?
If you didn't remember to keep the face mask on, any tiny airborne droplets of paint made your nostril hairs stick together! : Very difficult cleaning the old hooter out Permobel was sprayed hot, if he recalls? :

Dad is a professional refinisher. Worked in Birmingham for 30 years doing accident repairs and resprays for the trade. His speciality was making stretch limos (i.e. taking the car and stretching it).

As far as I know it all works perfectly. They live next door to a distillery and hoping to strike "gold"

Re: 1969 Fiat 500, under restoration!
Really great stuff PG. : My uncle was a direct influence on my motor madness. Started work as a lad in the coachbuilding shop at the Daimler Works in Coventry, and stayed there until he retired.
He felt it a privilege that he did some of the work on the then Queen Mary's Daimler, and the other Royals that favoured that pedigree of quality machines. British Motoring History? All gone now though! :

Re: 1969 Fiat 500, under restoration!
Can you still get the 'freeze or fry' exhaust/car heater box assembly for those 500's, or wasn't it fitted with one? Great fun to work on, but mind the skin at the base of your skull with that louvered engine cowl. :

Re: 1969 Fiat 500, under restoration!
In response to all of your questions Zed - the man from Del Monte he say "yes". It is a Batley garage which he rescued from elsewhere and I helped to lay a concrete floor in
He sends this for you......stand back!!! Meet the Doctor
