Thumbs Up Hello Panda! :D

Picking up a new little works runaround this weekend A Fiat Panda 1.3 m-jet diesel.
Met blue body, roof bars, 14" alloys, aircon and sky-view roof

Drove one last weekend got hooked and had a hoot even though compared to most things, it's pretty 'gentle' in the power to weight ratios...

It's ideal as a hardy, tough little blighter for a run-around that's cheap to buy, insure everyone on and should do some miles.

Anyone got one, had one, driven one

Going to have some pics this weekend to show you all what you're missing

I'm experiencing deja vu and amnesia at the same time.. I think I've forgotten this before.

I looked at a 'Sporting M-jet' and although I liked it, it was a little OTT for what we need. Still though. No faster either

Re: Hello Panda! :D

We've had the 4x4 version since September 06. Its a great wee car and does more miles than any of the rest of the 'fleet'. It goes anywhere off-road, does a zillion miles to the gallon, is comfy(although at 6 foot 2 the dash does dig into my left leg a little) and can be parked in the smallest of spaces.

I'd have another one in a heartbeat, although I would probably have the 100HP version which I borrowed from the dealer at launch time.

Its also been totally reliable, drinks no oil and has needed nothing apart from a routine service. The Italians build small cars better than anyone else - FACT.

Good luck with the car - you'll love it.

Panda running like a dream It's already done 700 miles!
Diesel engine a gem It'll top out at 105 mph indicated
Got some pics but at home on the camera.

All in all a hardy, solid, stylish, fun little cheap motor. Brilliant package and would recommend to anyone in the market for this level of vehicle

Re: Hello Panda! :D

Update on the little Panda, or 'Sue' as one of the girls has named it

The only problem so far was a gear linkage (5th gear) that went last week while I was away. A 10 min job to fix so I understand.

I guess the only complaint I have are the rather unsprung seats and the fact that the throttle is pretty much planted to the floor 90% of the time

Other than that, piling the miles on with little fuss.

Re: Hello Panda! :D

Just seen this thread for the first time and must say congrats on the Panda, my better half has a 1.3 in Black with roof and alloys which looks the mutts. It is a great little car but the lack of seat hight adjustment makes it uncomfortable for me to drive for any length time which is annoying as it is so much fun. It a sad statement but on really little twisty road it will pull away from the 159. Still wish they had got the 100 though
