Re: Lancia Delta

Well, I suppose it isn't bland.

Unfortunately it is fussily designed with chaotic lines running riot all over the place. The front end is a a disaster, neither cute nor aggressive. It has the raised eyes' smile of a psycho!

It doesn't interest me enough to read up but I guess it is another piece of Bravo/whatever platform shared non-innovative badge engineering that is anathema to the original Lancia ethos and brand values.

It won't sell, especially in the UK. It is just too ugly.

Re: Lancia Delta

My first real Italian car (After my wee Panda 45) was a Delta 1500 - Fond memories. I also owned a Beta 2000ES, Prisma 1600LX and a Dedra 2000SE before moving to Alfa. My brother owned a Thema 8v Turbo, Monte Carlo, Integrale 8v and Integrale 16v. All great memorable cars.

The new Lancias just dont do it for me - They have gone in a very strange direction

Re: Lancia Delta

Quality of this car looks very good but the dimensions let it down. If i was a Lancia fan i wouldnt be too happy.

Re: Lancia Delta

That is one CRAP looking car. Along with the rest of the current lancia line-up, soft doughball OAP wagons.

Deltas should be square and boxey and left back in the late 80's/ early 90's. Poor.

Re: Lancia Delta

i don't dislike it; it's a bit of an acquired taste, with a look that you'd expect from one of the more forward-looking Korean car companies.

Question is...is it a Lancia? Which begs the bigger question...what should a Lancia look like in the 21st century?

Re: Lancia Delta

Like the overall looks and stance of the car,but not some of the detailing.
DON'T like - the black tailgate-they also did this with the Ypsilon and it's
hidious!
- The centre console looks like its stuck on as an afterthought
I reckon Lancia are just trying way too hard to make thier cars look different, and it doesn't always work!

Judging by most of the comments here, you can understand why dealers would be reluctant to invest in re-branding and using up valuable real estate on a product that seems to be unlikely to appeal to the British buyer. Especially the Fiat guys with the 500 flying out of the doors.

Perhaps the plan is line a Delta up next to a 159 Sportwagon to boost SW sales.

Re: Lancia Delta

Most of the Lancia designs are odd looking, but having just returned from Italy, they do look chique.

Maybe the Delta will create a new market segment, like BMW did with the X6 STD... I saw one of these this morning & it was hideous & huge (HUGE!!!) and ugly....
