Re: Nissan 370Z

Looks ok, just the running costs over here.

I seriously looked at one before I bought the spider, I made the right choice.

There are loads of 350Z's around now - to many heap imports.

Yup, but you can tell an import, most owners won't go to the expense of having a UK rear valance put on and painted so the number plate is square.

Although in the import market there are some real bargains to be had, there was one up on Pistonheads not so long ago that if circumstances had been right I'd have gone and bought there and then. It had been owned by 2 members of the the Nissan Technical Centre and had copious modifications and a couple of years back Nissan HQ in Japan offered to swap the engine for a brand new one so they could ascertain what affect european driving styles had on the engine.

It was gorgeous, it was mint and it was cheap as chips

Re: Nissan 370Z

Looks like the 350Z's replacement will also come with a diesel engine.

If you want a sh*gged out jap import model with almost 100K miles on it !

Starting rate for half decent UK spec with kosher provenance is still around £15 -16K.

Nah. You buy a GT-R because it is a GT-R. Baked beans are baked beans; but once you've decided you want steak for lunch, nothing else will do.

You come to a Z350 either because a) you want one b) you chewed over the BMW equivalent, the TT and maybe even the Brera, but decided that actually the Zee ticks most boxes.

That, I doubt, is an elimination/selection process that goes through the mind of the Skyline buyer - the car is a myth as much as anything else, not just a commuter coupe.

Styling-wise, i like the Z. That said it has some terribly crude detailing on its delicate shape. The shape's fine, but a word needs to be had with the people that did:

- the door handles
- the front lights
- the lights in the rear bumpers

but i like the 350Z a lot and i can only imagine that a bigger capacity engine will only serve to make an already lovely car even more likeable.

Re: Nissan 370Z

Awesome drivers car, with plenty of N/A power and rear wheel drive. So few modern 'sports' cars really are. In fact most are style over function and are built for middle aged poseurs. Or badge snobs-dull people who follow like sheep and care too much about what others think.

I'd have one in a shot....but never a roadster!
