All Ireland Italian Motor gathering. June 9th Cultra Transport Museum

Hi everyone.
It is to be held at Cultra Transport Museum just outside Belfast and they have as good as agreed to let us hold it outside the museum doors on the semi circle which is fantastic.
They are not going to charge us to hold the gathering and we are negociating a reduced price for entry to the actual Museum.
We had to book the date there and then so I do hope this suits everyone and apologise if it doesn't. We had no choice and didn't want to miss this opportunity to have the show at such a prime place. It may indeed lead to bigger things in the future.

"ALL" types and "ALL" years of Italian vehicle are very welcome to attend. All we ask is that if you intend to go please drop a post on this thread as it will greatly help give us an idea of figures.

This is our BIG event so please put it in your diary and book the day off work if you have to, so you can support us.

Last years event brought 56 cars from across Ireland. Lets top this and if you have a bike or anything else Italian, please come along. You would be made very welcome.

Count me in to swell the alfa numbers by a solo 156 and if i can convince the missus a 147 is a good choice over a focus then swell the numbers by 2

Re: All Ireland Italian Motor gathering. June 9th Cultra Transport Museum

Can you pencil me in?

I would love to attend since its so close to my old stomping ground (Bangor and D'dee) and I think the GTA needs some more representing.

Need to check ferry times from England and other stuff like time off work.

Re: All Ireland Italian Motor gathering. June 9th Cultra Transport Museum

Just spoke to the main Fiat/Alfa dealer Mervyn Stewarts and they are looking into putting up a stand at the show.

Getting quite a few emails now with a lot of interest being shown. Hope to get to Cultra in the next few weeks to see just how much space we will have.
However off to meet the 5th Gear team next week to hopefully do a piece on the old Fiat Panda, specially "Sylvia, the Worlds most travelled Panda"

Is it easy to find the transport museum in Belfast ? Bearing in mind I'd be coming from Dublin and don't know Belfast at all.

Re: All Ireland Italian Motor gathering. June 9th Cultra Transport Museum

head for belfast get to M1 and go to end, follow signs for M2/M3 you are heading for the M3. Join the M3 travel about a mile and leave the M3 at J1a heading for - City Airport, Bangor, Newtownards. Join the A2, Sydenham bypass - which becomes the Holywood bypass later - for about 4 miles. you are looking for an exit to the left marked Cultra, museum is near cultra Halt railway station.

Easier version, head for belfast, follow signs for Bangor, should be loads it's a biggish town but if there are none follow the signs for City Airport till you see some for Bangor, keep eye out for Cultra signs to left after you pass Holywood.

Hope these are close enough, i only been there once and it wasn't yesterday either

If you have Google Earth, Copy & paste ...

54 39.17'N 5 48.04'W

into the search box, that will get you the car park at the Transport Museum, can also be used in the destination box of the 'directions' tab

Or the following is from the Museums site http://www.uftm.org.uk/visiting_info...el_directions/

Can't go myself , but it looks like it's going to be a great day

Looking forward to this. How many numbers have we managed to confirm ? Is this the first time a meet like this has happened up there or is this the '07 version of a long-standing meeting ?

This is the second year for such a meet. Last year we had well over 60 cars (I think in actual fact we had over 80) at our meet near Lisburn. This years event will hopefully be bigger and better.

Re: All Ireland Italian Motor gathering. June 9th Cultra Transport Museum

Ok further details on the event. We have confirmed that all the vehicles will be located inside the transport Museums grounds and the Cultra people are very keen for us to hold the event. There used to be Classic events held there a few years ago with over 300 vehicles attending. Our event "this year" may not reach those heights but we do hope to top the 60+ vehicles we had attend the Tidy Doffer last year. I know it's 20 miles further than last year for all the people from Southern Ireland but I really do believe it will be worth it.
Everyone with an Italian vehicle (OF ANY YEAR) will be made very welcome and we have decided to extend the event to other makes of vehicle. In the case of other makes I would ask owners to contact me at secretary@niimc.net Other Clubs may also be able to attend as we have more than enough space but again please contact me first by email or on 07900211644.

For anyone who has never been to Cultra museum here is the link to their site http://www.uftm.org.uk/

Oh and we are hopefully arranging that anyone who attends the event gets Half price entry to the museum.
There are also food facilities at the Museum and it is a great place for a full day out. Don't forget there is also the Folk Museum as well.

We really hope as many of you can make it as possible. I will try to post any more details as we get them on here but it's not always possible so please do take a couple of mins and drop into the forum of www.niimc.net for updates.

Below is a few photos of were on the grounds we will be.

Re: All Ireland Italian Motor gathering. June 9th Cultra Transport Museum

So Stu, is it enough to just turn up on the day in an Italian car or do we ring you and let you know first ? Do we need 'entry' into anywhere, or do we just park up and enjoy.
