Explosion in Derry

Does anyone know what it was? It sounded huge and my mate heard it (about 6 miles away) too.

This is going to continue to happen until the people of Derry decide they have had enough of these wasters. The city and its people deserve better.

Get a grip and get em out.

It's getting there....slowly,very slowly but surely. There's a lot of history in this country but i'm confident that things can only get better.

Thank God no-one was hurt. Wife has got the day off as her office is behind the cordon.

Anyway, my guess is a Vauxhall Vectra!

Hope it was an Octavia....

Funny, sat up last night with my 12 year old showing him youtube footage of "the troubles" here. When i watched it i really realised just haw far this place has come (we were morally in the gutter in my opinion - but don't quote me). Scary to see how bigoted even the politicians were 40 years ago spouting stuff that would today see you locked up!

Sorry about the poor taxi driver, least no one was hurt.

We're climbing out of the gutter, but there's always a bit of **** on your shoes as you emerge

Does it really matter what kind of car it was? All we need to know is that it was some poor sod's livelihood. Sad to see some people still want to live in the dark ages despite everyone else having moved on. Unfortunately things are much worse than is being reported in the media.

I didn't want this to turn into a politics/ "troubles" debate so I decided to change the mood a little

No worries but I'm guessing the taxi driver would be a bit less appreciative.
