Antrim Coast Run

For anyone who is interested I'm hoping to organise a run up the Antrim Coast. This will start off in Belfast with stops in Carrickfergus, Carnlough and Ballycastle and finishing off at Morellis in Portstewart. We will hopefully be arranging an overnight stay at The Bushmills Inn (and maybe a tour of the distillery if there is time).

The provisional date is the weeknd 27th/28th September so if you're interested then let me know.

Re: Antrim Coast Run

I'd be interested in this, but I wouldn't be able for the overnight stay.

If/when you finalize the date of the first day, I'll let you know if i can make that day or not

Looking forward to seeing the LE. There is a fair bit of interest and one or two from the South may travel up too. There'll be a fair few NIIMC members and our Ferrari 360 CS owner has expressed an interest.

The first day will be the Saturday 27th. The plan is to leave Carrickfergus at approx 10.00am and travel up from there. For those who can stay until the Sunday, we'll probably stay and watch the Singapore Grand Prix over lunch and leave after that.

27th September. I reckon after a month of sleepless nights and dirty nappies you'll be ready for a weekend away

Re: Antrim Coast Run

This is turning out to be more difficult than expected. Car club runs are still subject to Parades Commission approval here so I have to fill an 8 page form so we can drive up the coast

Getting a hotel for the overnight stay is proving very difficult to say the least. Most are pretty well booked up so we may be looking at a Saturday run only.

I'm open to suggestions but if you're suggesting a possible hotel for overnight stay could you do me a favour and check what rooms are available.

Otherwise would everyone still be interested in a Saturday run only?

Edit: Just one thing. I need to know within the next few days approximate numbers to get the PC form in before the 28 day deadline.

Re: Antrim Coast Run

The fish & chip shop at Ballycastle harbour is well worth a visit. I do the coast road every time I get home. Family are from Antrim town and Ballymena, good luck with this one.

Re: Antrim Coast Run

The Anchorage Inn in Portstewart has 9 double/twin rooms free. Only catch is they're all executive rooms so a bit more expensive than standard. The cost would be £110 per room B&B plus entrance to their club/live entertainment. I enquired if they had a private room with TV for watching the F1 over lunch but unfortunately they don't. They have a number of TVs in the public bar and I'm told the race will most probably be on.

If you want to stay overnight then I will need to know ASAP so I can get rooms booked. If you want to go on the run only then I need to know by next Thursday at the very latest
