NIIMC all Ireland event Cultra cancelled

It's with a really deep regret that I have had to cancel the event at Cultra museum for this year.
It appears we have fell foul of our own success after last year. The museum want us to arrange liability insurance (£250), complete a 7 page risk assessment (not really a problem) but we're the only ones to have been asked to do it.
And hardest to swallow is that they now want to charge at least £1.70 to each "person" attending. As we are a small club we simply can't justify this because we wanted it to be a gathering of "friends" not just vehicles and you don't ask friends to pay to meet eachother.

I am trying to see if I can arrange something for later in the year were we can all get together. Castle Bellingham is a possibility but getting organisors on the day could be a problem due to distance.

In the meantime I'm hoping as many of you as possible can make to the Antrim show (see my other thread) to sort of make up for it.. If any of you can make that it would be great..

Also Lurgan show is a non runner as it's on the 14th June, the same day the NIIMC/AO guys are going karting.

Why not just arrange to meet in a public park en masse? It would be free and if timed right shouldnt be a problem with parking.

The clubs holding a meet in July in at Ballnahinch outside Downpatrick. The hope is that once I have the date we will invite everyone along and it will be as big as Cultra. I should have details this week.
