Re: Mangoletsi

Well...

I have received your email and I am planning to call you to discuss.
I know all about it and don't think you would want the details posted on this site.

However, the point I want to make about the BMW that you offered in part exchange, is that Mangoletsi can't be blamed for the residuals that are now poor, or that a lot of BMW dealers are starting to shy away from underwriting their own cars. They have some competition now....

If it is viewed that Mangoletsi are not interested in taking a part exchange because we don't offer what you wanted then this is totally unfair to post on an open forum and totally incorrect.

Also, you were 'offered' items that are popular, nothing was forced when figures were put in front of you.

And finally, you were looking at an Alfa Silver Brera but you didn't want anything but Alfa Red ?

I can put a lot more but suggest we speak.

End.

Well,

I'm not getting involved in a school bus row.

If the warranty charged was £1000 or £100 it is the balance the customer pays, the quality of service they receive and the car they buy that is more important.

The cost is an internal accounting procedure to cost against the car. It is shown mainly for this reason. Others may want to look good saying it is FOC, but they will charge you elsewhere, it's in that final balance, otherwise we would all be trading cars for free !

Can we move on ?

I can say that on a different note, the prices for the Alfa Mito and all the up to date news on the Alfa Mito are at:-

Mangoletsi, Alfa Romeo and Fiat Dealership in the north west of England - Alfa Romeo Mito

Thank you to all. Hope you are all well.

I haven't seen a ongoing thread about your dealership but one would hope that if there was, you'd not expect the competition to be sniping at you in this way. Then we end up with slanging matches between companies and that's not we are about on AO.

Had you been a normal AOer i.e. member of the public then it would be just a light-hearted joke but it doesn't look that way coming from another dealer who might benefit from undermining Mangoletsi.

IMHO as a mug punter.

You're welcome. Fair play for all, I say.

But I still think you should have responded better to my 159ti leasing enquiry (see earlier frustrated posts) and my calls back to you including messages left.

Well...

Craig as you know you were not the salesman involved.

My complaint or whatever you want to call it has nothing to do with not taking the BMW in px.
You don't have to take a px, just like I don't have to buy from you.

As for a BMW dealer not underwriting my car, I'm afraid you have been told a 'porky' there, the salesman DID NOT try to give or get a price for my px.
IMHO - As for residuals, Alfa have improved greatly on the new range 159/Brera, but they are still not up there with BMW.

The problems at the time were -

1. The salesman I was dealing with was unable to perform a very simple task, i.e. straight forward cost to change price. (That IS ALL I asked for).

2. The 'offered' items should not be hidden within the 'cost to change' price. I never asked for the 'offered' items and ONLY found out about them when I questioned the high price to change.
You are correct nothing was forced on me, lets get the price of the car out of the way and then discuss extras (I am trying to be constructive here as a buyer).

3. There is no two ways about it, I see it as very poor to be charging £100 for a warranty transfer on a car still under manufacturers warranty and worth £18K+ (I don't believe that I'm the only one on this forum that thinks that).
I have NEVER come across any other dealer that uses this strategy, my advice, add it onto the advertised price (I am trying to be constructive here as a buyer) it does smack of penny pinching by the dealer.

4. You are very wrong on this point - I was not looking to purchase a red Brera, that may be what I own now, I had every intention of doing a deal on the silver Brera, after all you are my most local dealer and I had purchased 2 cars before from Mangoletsi in the past.

I have had some very good and some not so good dealings in the past with your dealership but points 2 & 3 above are really what put me off buying a car from yourselves.

I can put a lot more as I mentioned in my email but suggest we speak, give me a call when you have time.

End

Hi,

I know I was not involved in the enquiry at the dealership, but I do stand proudly behind colleagues.

Thank you for your advice regarding selling pre owned Alfa Romeo vehicles ( your point 3 ). I explained it is the balance to change that matters, I'll explain again:-

By example, say our car is priced at £18,000 + £100 ( warranty tr.) which is £18,100, we choose to show it and account for it. If your px was worth £8000 then £10,100 is the balance to change.

So, for an identical car elsewhere priced at £18,000, if the balance to change is less than £10,100 then it is a better deal, simple.

We discuss these matters and have been doing for 40 years. If we can't better it then it doesn't mean we are doing anything wrong, we are at least being upfront about it.

And as regards to point 2, I am sorry you felt that offering you a chance to protect your car was so wrong.

And finally you stated in your email to me that we were clearly not interested in taking your part exchange, so why say otherwise on the forum ? You let everyone know you sent it and contradicted it from my response.

I can see no value in taking this further.

Please remember I am here as a member and happy to help but I see no fault, sorry.

I won't respond anymore to this.

Craig

Last weekend (when Happy was picking up the GT) Rob had no idea we were coming in as Kevan had apparently not left the message, nor could he find our details in their prospects database. OK he looked and sounded rough and we decided not to push for the test drive but it was a bit of a wasted trip as Happy's collection was put back.

I decided to email them for info on the GT Cloverleaf special edition from the company lease angle for me as opposed to used for MrsJim and, to be fair, next day I got a voicemail from Craig albeit refering my interest in the Spider (which I'm not interested in buying). I phoned Mango's 3 times over two days and Craig was tied up each time. Again fair enough. The last two times I told reception to tell him I called and even added I'd PM'd him on here. Have I heard anything since? No.

Am I being touchy or expecting too much? Is it my fault perhaps for sending apparently conflicting signals about new/used interest about both GT and new 159?

I'm wondering if I'd be better not going to the trouble of either trying to get Alfa back on my company's approved list - even if it is just for me - or indeed bothering with the cost and depreciation and risk of breakdowns/repairs involved in changing Lisa's Picasso to a GT as the alternative.

Harrummph!
Hi,

It seems we have let you down on your enquiry.

Please can you contact me via email and I'll call you.

Thank you for your understanding, we have been very busy and sold a huge amount of Spider LE models. I obviously left a message out of confusion. It is not my style, I will admit to fault.

I hope I can rectify this for you.

Kind Regards

Craig

Craig

Learn something new everyday, never knew that Sat Nav was classed as a device to protect my car.

You bought up the BMW on the 'open forum' not me, I just mentioned it in the email I sent to you.

Like I said before the px is not the complaint, it was the 'offered' items and warranty charge.

As I've said before I won't allow dealers to Post comments like that in the NW Lounge

Due to the time lapse and previous quoting of this comment I will not delete the post had I seen it earlier I would have.
