Re: Mangoletsi

My 159 went in on Friday last week and I'm pretty happy. I only spoke with Paul at the beginning of last week and he fitted me in ASAP as a last minute booking.

The work was done very quickly - I had my afternoon meetings cancelled and due to the distance back home to Yorkshire, Paul organised the service pretty swiftly!

I also talked with Ian and Martin, the technicians who worked on my car. I asked them about the surging and various other bits and bobs and found them to be very helpful. A big thanks to them for being so good and loving my numberplate so much

I guess the only possible fles in the ointment were that I tootled around in a 500 (which is far better and fn than an Punto) and not a 159 and the fact that the replacment foglights seemed expensive.

The surging is still there, although less so and more infrequent.

But I was happy to pay based on the 1-to-1 open policy with the technicians afforded to me and the request by me to speed things along.

A good 8.5/10 for me

I'm experiencing deja vu and amnesia at the same time.. I think I've forgotten this before.

I'm sorry but I cannot let go that they wanted to charge £100 to transfer the warranty on a car less than 1 year old to put it in my name do you honestly believe that BMW, Audi or Merc would do that?

Pennywise pounds foolish, they lost the sale, what this has taught me is that I will now go anywhere in the country to buy a car instead of being loyal to a dealer, it cuts both ways.
Craig I would like your opinion on the above please.

Hang on, this sounds crazy! The charge for transfering the Alfa Warranty into your name is £27, this is the amount charged to me when I did this 6 months ago. Perhaps there's a difference in charge between the manufacturers warranty (years 1 and 2) and in my case the dealer warranty (year 3)? Either way £100 charge is crazy, insulting even! Are they trying to scare away customers or what???

They shouldn't be charging anything. No other premium brand charge for warranty transfer. But may Alfa aren't a premium brand.

I have emailed Craig, lets see how long it takes to get a response.

Re: Mangoletsi

I'm annoyed that I have to pay £15 to retrieve a radio code (which they already had one file but it doesn't work in my car) from somewhere else.... only to be called back today to let me know it's still the same code..

They should not be charging for this.

Re: Mangoletsi

Right-e-o

Deal done for my new 'used' 159

Kevan Dingle is a good sales person.

I have one thing to consider however. The £100 warranty charge issue? I am sure I have never had this in P/Xing 3 Alfas previously. I asked Kevin and he said if I didn't pay the £100 my car would be considered not under warranty by AR UK? So far I have agreed to the charge as I want the deal to be done but I think I need to ask AR UK about this myself. It's not a huge big deal but just something I have never heard of before

When I picked up my 159 SW from ES Jones there was no warranty charge as far as I remember unless it was in there somewhere and I didn't see it at the time.........but I am happy that I am still in an Alfa for the next 4 years (I am keeping this one for the length of my loan) and am picking it up next Tuesday.

Isn't science fun?!?! Eye think so!

They never learn.
After my experience with Mango's I went to County Motors and bought a Brera and they didn't add on a charge for the Warrenty the car was just under 1 year old.

On the Alfa website there is a charge to transfer the 3rd year of the warrenty of £23.50 which is fair enough, but I haven't a clue as to where Mango's get £100 from for the manufacturers part of the warranty, I don't know of any other Alfa deal that charges or BMW, Audi, VW, Merc etc.

As I said a bit a go, I was impressed with his approach too.

He spells it somewhat unusually though, "Kevan" if anyone is asking after him. At least that's how he wrote it on the GT brochure he gave us.

I think to be fair this is unjust, the warranty transfer fee costs the £27 pounds inc, even if the customer does it direct with Alfa it only costs £65. We include it FOC as part of the sale as I believe (don't quote me until I've checked) it has to be done as part of the Alfa Approved Used Car program

Have you had to pay extra for the air in your tyres?
