I hate Blackpool too as a place. The lights are OK though.

So you're shifting it to Grimsby/Cleethorpes then? THE best fish and chips are there.

We did the Illuminations a couple of weeks back. The international fireworks championship was on that night. It sounded like a typically crappy Blackpool stunt but it was for real and way better than the lights. MasterJim was enthralled.

Don't bother with the Harry Ramsden's at the Tower it's kack and packed. Oh and we weren't that late but parking was a nightmare - ended up right back near Blackpool FC and walking miles which did not please the family wanting food so don't assume there'll be plenty of parking.

Re: Lights and Chips

I'm not planning a sit down

Fish and chips should be eaten standing up and with the fingers and out of paper

But not newspaper as the health and safety folk said we can't do that

On the Front with the sea crashing and the wind blowing the chips off the polystyrene tray. Ah. Magical.
