Cool coincidence. I'm booked in for a service & MOT at Mango's on Tue/Wed so should be able to make it. Service is the biggie (72k) so might just be able to scrape enough pennies together for half a pint and a bag of salt n vinegar.

Sorry, can't make this as it clashes with Imp Club Pennine Section meet - and as I'm the Section organiser I ought to be there.....Yeah I know, into Imps as well as Alfas.....sad or what! Oh and you'll confuse the Whipping Stocks people who'll think ...

Re: Night at the Stocks

Dissapointingly I wont be able to meet up with you guys tonight.

Despite giving Mango's 2 the car for 2 days (MOT and 72k service) they cannot guarantee the car will be finished tonight. As I have a 3 1/2 hour train journey to get to them I'll not be setting off until I know for sure its ready for me. So going down tommorow lunch time.

Have fun guys, drive safe.

Unlucky Swanny, next time eh?

What the hell can they be doing for 2 days? Sure it's a big job but it's definitely not 2 days work, is it?

Had a similar problem last time I had work done there too.

Oh and they wanted £50 in labour to fit a new battery (on top of £990 for the service) - told 'em to put it in boot and I'd do it.

Not very impressive!

Re: Night at the Stocks

Oh well, looks like my car is spending another night at Mango's as well. They've just rung to say they won't have time to fit the new headlining today as the guy who was meant to be doing it has had to go home "for personal reasons". I suppose that can't be helped but it just means a 70 mile round-trip to collect the car tomorrow when I'm down there anyway tonight

Good job they put me in a 147 this time and not a Punto, imagine what sort of muppet would turn up to an Alfa meet driving a bloody Punto!!

Re: Night at the Stocks

You should try Alfie at Heath Road Garage in Sandbach, I'm sure he'd be cheaper, faster, and would do a better job. It'd still mean a day out for you though.

£50 to fit a battery? That's taking the p*ss........

So you'll be driving like a true hire-car driver tonight then? All we'll see is a blur

a red blur followed by a sonic boom, you'll know it's either me or a transit van yup, i'll be there in a nice red 147ti 1.6TS. i've already told mango's that it was clean up until today but i can't be held responsible if things change as a result of tonight

Re: Night at the Stocks

Good to catch up again chaps, nice to meet a new face, glad you could make it Gorf. Shame the 159 was in limp mode, we'll have to try again when you've got the full JTD power at your disposal, those roads don't work too well when you have to plod but any other night you'd have loved the route, I'm sure

Wainey, your new Brera is a peach We'll have to gag Happy Man next time so we can go for a drive before you have to toodle off
