Well today a gear linkage popped out of its ball socket - sounds painful I know

I lost all gears and thought the worse, after a couple of phone calls - My Dad, Gus and Chris155, who I cant thank enough as they were all helpful in giving me their time and helping, I found the reason being the popped ball socket.

After finding out it was a £115 + VAT part I started counting my pennies and we got the ball socket off, the threads had gone inside.

I then thought Id give Just Alfa Spares a ring incase they had anything (It was close to 7pm at this stage) phone answers - "Right call in now if I don't have anything then Ill pick the car up from you tomorrow and do the job''.

I get down there and speak to them I get a few ball sockets from there extensive spares and then get back to it, it fits and I'm now back on the road for the sum of £10!!!!!

Superb people there, real enthusiasts this is the 3rd time they have helped me and I just thought I'd spread the word.

I agree! They replaced a wiper motor in my dads 147 and sorted a missfire in my 156 a good few months ago, will definitely be using them again. Hopefully not too soon!!!
