Alfa Dealers \ Specialist around Lancaster \ Cumbria

Hi all

Looks like we will be moving a bit further north soon. We are looking at Caton or in the Lakes, so I was wondering if there are any recommended Alfa Dealers in the Lancaster or Cumbria?

Thanks

Lloyd Carlisle are the Alfa dealer for Cumbria and have been doing my warranty work, County Motors in Carlisle still do servicing I think. other than that its down to Mangoletsi

Thanks Lads, will bear that in mind once we move. I have said to the other half that there has to be an alfa dealer within an hours drive!

No Alfa specialists round here as far as I know, but some good independents. We take both ours to JD Mototech on Carr House Lane in Lancaster and have been very happy with their service. If you look for a thread titled "Kendal Cumbria" from last year a few other local garages were recommended by other members.

In terms of sales, GTA Italian Car Sales have moved and are now just south of Garstang on the A6.

Has anyone tried Preston Motor Park? it's quoted on the AR website as "Aftersales - Parts and Servicing". If it's the place I'm thinking of it a Fiat dealer.

It's a fiat/Alfa dealer and service/parts centre, which has also started selling Lotus cars recently. I went there to get 4 wheel alignment done about a year ago and it took two days. Their first attempt made it worse! I used to get my oil from there also but the last time I went I ended up getting ignored for 15 minutes so I left and went to Mangos. I wouldn't recommend them but they may have changed since I last visited. I'd say that if you want to use a main dealer use Mangoletsi down the M6 otherwise use an independant such as Ferdis or Alfatune.

Preston Motor Park used to be Caledonia Motors and were a full Alfa dealership. Although they stopped doing sales a few years ago they are still an official servicing outlet. I had some warranty work done there last year, unfortunately it took three days as they were sent the wrong parts to start of with. However if you're in the North Lancs area they are your best option for official servicing and repairs as otherwise its a trip to Carlisle or Manchester.

I would agree, I'm not very happy with the service I received from Lloyds. My MiTo has been back in three times for the same issue/issues they created. I'm definitely going to County Motors for my first service when it's due.

I went up there for some bits when i first got mine as i was in preston anyway at a customers site fixing a server but again ignored for a bit and then the guy who came out seemed completely disinterested so i went down to mango's instead.

There's always Gus at alfatune in st helens.

about 10 mins of the M6 J23 haydock - awesome independant I trust him with my car anyday !

not as far to drive as mango's either

I'd deffo use mangos if you want a dealer though.

There is a big difference between a franchised dealer and someone who actually gives a rats *** about your car. Mango's do

County Motors have been used by me for eight years now. Looked after my 159 for six and super service. Todd the mechanic certainly knows his Alfa's , used to live in Lytham but Ferds Garage comes most certainly second to County at Carlisle. Would not touch Lloyds the Alfa franchise if I dragged screaming and kicking. Bought my car in Germany and saved close to 9k so needed a good dealer/service centre and County fit that bill.
