Rolling Road Session

I was down at my local Rolling Road (co-located with MiniSport in Padiham, near Burnley, Lancashire) today as some friends were getting their Imps tested, and as I know the guy who operates it I raised the subject of a group testing session - which he is happy to do, on Saturday mornings.....minimum of six cars, better with ten or more, max probably 15-ish....

You'd get a basic check run, any immediately needed tweaks, and a power run, with printout, for £30 - maybe cheaper if a full session is booked...

If anyone is interested let me know - I'm posting on other Alfa Forums, too.

Book the morning off

Richard I'm in, used to trek over to Minisport every weekend years ago when I had my Mini 850, they do 3 stage conversions on that rolling road and have done for about 15 years iirc so should be a good setup.

(Thinks frantically)...........

Er, I was mentally practicing my driving around Snetterton, and was so "in the zone" that I didn't see you waving? (almost true...I did liven up the drive over Woodhead in 40-50mph traffic by practicing my cornering lines and clipping the apex points - all on my own side of the road, of course. The guy in the Transit behind me must have thought I was nuts....)

OR - I was deeply engrossed in the CD i was listening to, and didn't see you waving?

Or - Driving the 164 en route to my racing with Future Classics in the Classic and Sports Car Club meet, I wasn't prepared to acknowledge any such modern machinery as a GTV ?

Most likely..I'm a dozy beggar and wasn't paying as much attention as I should have been

Sorry

Not much more to say at this point - Apparently he's booked up next Saturday 31st - but could do any Saturday after that. Would want to start about 8.30 - 9.00am (on a Saturday) - 'cos Minisport have a time-out at about 1.00pm so he needs to finish by then.

As soon as I've enough expressions of interest I'll have to start the complicated process of establishing a particular date which will upset the least number of people...

i spent thousands in that place buying bits and bobs

nothing wrong with them apart from being on the pricey side. it was convenient for getting bits quick though

OK, looks like this is going to be a goer - with responses from other forums....

So now we need to decide on a date.......14th or 21st of November?

14th is preferable for me, but only if it's in the morning. The AO trackday at Bedford is the 21st so that's a definite no here.
