AONW convoy to Yorks Alfa Day

Sunday 13th September at Elvington Airfield & Musem, near York. Last year was a cracking day out - the convoy grew as it headed east, ending up with about 20 cars leaving Leeds. It's a really nice drive as well, through the Yorkshire countryside

piccie thread from last year here:

Yorkshire lounge official RSVP thread here:

Sounds like an ideal birthday treat, missed last year's with a recalcitrant clutch slave cylinder.
If things go to plan, should've had my belts done and a 'slight' gearbox modification done prior to that too...

I have got the same hurdle to overcome as with the racing that weekend. Hopefully, I'll make one or the other.

Good points, I hadn't thought of that when I first read the OP. It might sit better with MrsJim than racing, my dad might enjoy it as well as Thomas; plus Sunday fits better with JimJr's skiing lessons which we have to pay for in blocks in advance, so I'd prefer he didn't miss them.

cheeky james

check ut the piccie thread from last year's event, you'll get an idea of some of the stuff there. there are also lots of indoor displays of old army & air force stuff, very interesting if that's your cup of tea. there's also a sniper game that i was total rubbish at, and HM was disturbingly good at (i think the authorities need to be watching people like him...)

It looks like it was a cracking day, including the weather. i'd settle for one of those days for a change!

Do we get a group discounted admission or is it full price?

I thought Dad would like it. He used to jump out of those Dakotas. I don't think he'll be up to it next week but we'll still try and make it.
