AONW Convoy to National Alfa Day

Right then, here goes......

It has been left to me to organise the convoy!

Enough rambling so heres the plan. Im suggesting a meet up at Blackburn Services just off Junction 4 of the M65, mainly because its easy enough to get to and it is within easy reach of the A59, the main road we should be taking up to Ripon.

Gates at NAD should be opening about 10.00am, we have been advised to arrive between 10.00 and 10.30 and the route should take no more than 90 minutes. If we aim to meet up at around 8.15am with a view to leaving at around 8.30 ish, 8.45 at the very latest.

For those who have no idea where Blackburn is or where we are meeting, pop the postcode BB3 0AT into your sat nav's

be aware too that we are having a couple of visitors joining up with us from other AO regions

Question: Is this convoy going to turn testosterone-heavy and be done at warp-speed?

No judgement from me if it is, it's just that while I'm not adverse to speed, I prefer to do it on my own terms, and roads I've chosen and am happy with (both safety aspects and likelyhood of being caught). I'd feel a proper fool if I got 3 points on my license just because I was trying to keep up with a stream of Alfas!

If it's likely to be getting a little lairy, I might meet you all there instead.

no the convoy should be at sensible speeds bazza, maybe if it was another day it might have gotten a bit rapid but sundays on the A59 usually mean bikes galore and the occasional sunday driver in their bland-boxes stuck at 40mph. so if anything we wont have much choice but to go at normal speeds!

plus i been told by HM to keep the speed below 130

Good work Gaz :clap: - one comment though, should it be a 'meet' type thread with the yes / no /maybe thing @ the top?

Or do we just go for a 'rolling' list within the thread?
