Well I reckon it's about time we had a meet don't you folks?

It's been a while since we've had an AONW 'family' day out so let's go for the Saturday on bank holiday weekend for this one and bring all the wives & kids etc along New venue this time as well - the Aviation Viewing Park at Manchester Airport where we can see all the planes coming and going at close range. Yeah I know, very nerdy but it's a good day out, honest

http://www.manchesterairport.co.uk/m...nt/ViewingPark

Full info on the link but there's plenty to see there as well as a souvenir shop full of stuff for the kids. Entry is £4 for a car and driver, then £1 for each passenger. They also do guided tours on CONCORDE - check out the times etc

I reckon we go for an early afternoon start, maybe 2pm, ***NOTICE - NOW MEETING AT 4PM*** then we can all have an early tea at a really nice pub called the Romper just round the corner from the viewing park:

So who's up for it then?

no farting either - you'll confuse the wind sock

just remembered there's a nice little tunnel run about a quarter of a mile from the viewing park for those of a howling v6 persuasion. or a zinging 4-pot, or even a chugging tractor

Re: Planes, no trains, but lots of automobiles

WA15 8XJ

about half a minute off the m56 junction 6 - the romper pub and the viewing park are on the same road - dead easy to find mate. i reckon if we meet at the pub for a beer maybe at 4pm then we can go to the viewing park all together, then tea at the pub again at 6 ish?

won't be going overly slow either though, my 4 year old is a proper petrolhead - she's always egging me on to crank the stereo up and bury the right foot, proper daddy's girl
