Re: Any AOers near Carlisle?

yeah i have had my eye on that one. 217 miles from me though is a bit far. would definately be a keeper. £7.5k is good value for a cup, wouldnt want to mod it too much either, maybe a Q2 and exhaust. definately the stereo. need the money first though (STOP DREAMING!)

Re: Any AOers near Carlisle?

I'd be up for a run up north, will give me a break from painting the new house next month.
I have a rattle on the 147 on start up and was unsure about whether it was the heat shield or the variator (I know people say it sounds like a diesel but wasnt sure how much like a diesel) but after hearing Gaz's GTV pull in the the pub car park, I am positive my rattle is the heat shield!

Re: Any AOers near Carlisle?

aye rik you dont see so many about. im not sure if i like the facelifted front though, it seems theres something not quite right about it, dont even know what. no offence intended cos its still a lovely looking car. especially in black with the red leather. im open to suggestions though but i now have an idea goin on about a 3.0 and getting a supercharger fitted.

efcsted mate it could be either the vari or the heat shield, mine has both noises which makes it worse! id say its more likely to be the vari though as its more prone to rattling. i may be wrong though its been known to happen!!

this thread seems to be getting off topic now anyway, any updates from the boss men?

Re: Any AOers near Carlisle?

Pencil me in for a Lakes meet - I'm up for that!

Another spin up through Weardale with fun at the other end...

Done Hardknott the last few years, but not really a road to blat on on so prolly a no no - singletrack, high hedgerows... Very pretty though and well recommended for the views.

Just to add to this thread, I'm on holiday at St. Bees near Whitehaven just now and it would be a great place to start
