Re: So what's next

Go Ape is a riot of a place, went there a couple of years ago near Coniston. Not that cheap but does take about 4 hours to go round the whole thing on zip slides, walking on planks of wood strapped to trees a fair distance from the floor.
Would also be good for people with kids as there is a play park and such like.
One word of caution though, if you have a bad back or afraid of heights (or falling into the ground), its probabaly not your cup of tea but you can walk round the rest of the forest with a camera taking photos of the others making themselves look like idiots!

Talking of good pubs in the Trough of Bowland area, there is one called the Inn at Whitewell that is cracking. Might be a bit upmarket though

So far 7 AONEers have replied 'yes' to the event thread in the north east lounge, but I'm confident we'll be into double figures on the day.

Re: So what's next

Well Al...ow bowt this fora belta.....just been sorting out when me and the boys are doing this route on our bikes and i thought it would make a superb run for the AO crew. Done this several times and the scenery and roads are amazing, it's a 120 mile route that takes in all the mountain passes in the lakes.

We could do this as a long day run, or as a weekend jobi with a camping/caravan site around halfway round. There's loads of places/things we could stop for on the way round to make it family friendly. We could even do go ape as well. Ow bout a multi region weekend HM
