Al, they provide race suits, helmets and gloves as part of the package. IIRC the gloves tend to be crappy safety type gloves rather than driving ones.

Jeans and a T-shirt will be fine.

Everyone else please wear thick sweaters, and any chain mail vests you can get hold of. Failing that a suit of armour is very appropriate.

I'm led to believe that a pair of diving boots are compulsory too

For those 'slim Jims' with an unfair weight advantage, I've got some fins they could wear to help even things up....
