That sounds like a fair price. Getting water pump Variator and Cam Sensor all sensible additions to doing the belts

Not necessary if you don,t need them , a single belt change and a tensioner and an idler should be about 300 tops. If your passing Dundee and CP Garage services , He would do it cheaper only if if your going that way though , otherwise it s reasonable.

But, if they do go then the belts need to come off again which can rack up the pennies. Admitedly the variator will just make the car sound like an old deisle and be a bit more sluggish when you put your boot down.

Yes I know where you are coming from , I suppose I was looking at doing the job myself and self diagnosing any need then it woudn't have that cost coming into it . Aye like doing it again.

Belt set £100. That means labour is £250. Must be £100 per hour. I am in the wrong business....

Brera 2.4 (250BHP-DPF)

I'm looking at getting my cambelt/waterpump done along with a 54k service on my '07 2.4JTDM Brera. My local, non-Alfa Indy is currently checking prices but they think they might have to source specialist tools, which would bump up the price.

I am loathe to take it Donald Mackenzie Inverness, as I have had multiple bad experiences with them, and quite frankly wouldn't trust them to change the Radio station!!

If anyone has any other suggestions on where to take it anywhere between Inverness-Aberdeen I'd be grateful! Preferably more towards the Inverness area (I'm in Nairn).

Might try the Arnold Clark in Elgin if there is someone there who's familiar with Alfa's?

Cheers
