Hopetoun House convoy

For those planning on going to Hopetoun on the 14th August I will be leaving Laurencekirk at 7:45am. If you want to go down in convoy then let me know where you intend joining in. We usually meet up with AOSS at the Tesco car park just off the Forth Road Bridge for about 9:30ish then go in together.
Fingers crossed we get similar weather to last year

i'll probably meet up with uz at the bp garage at the other side of dundee as usual. not sure what car i'll bring yet, gtv, 159 or maybe something else!

Anyone from north of Aberdeen wishing to meet at Newtonhill Tesco before proceeding to Laurencekirk I'll be there ready to leave at 7.15

After several members commenting on the speed of the convoy down to Craigtoun, let's hope that the convoy stays together and within the speed limit!

We all stayed together all the way to Cupar and well within the speed limit, so a little puzzled at that one.

Cupar to Craigtoun however was just ridiculous. Because of the traffic lights when you leave the car park we were only getting out a few at a time. I had a Fiat X1/9 scream past me on the way as I was going quite slow. That was my only indication that I was on the right road, as whoever was in front of me was off like a rocket.
Hopetoun will be different................

Any rumours on what might turn up this year? It will be hard to top the Enzo / zonda from last year.

maybe... a 3.0 v6 engine just isnt very practical anymore...

I've not been involved at all in the organisation this year. But i'd assume they will have the usual mix of all things Italian from Alfa to Zonda and everything in between

Not if it can be avoided Craig, but as you're Bridge of Earn why not wait for us on the outskirts of the village and listen out for a convoy of Italian Stallions rampaging past.

I may be staying down in South Queensferry on the Saturday now, but there will be a convoy going down so watch this space................................

We are staying at the Norton House Hotel on the Saturday night now, so we will just meet you all at Tesco at South Queensferry for 9am.

Ok folks the convoy will be as follows:

Starting off at Tesco at Newtonhill at 7.15 - passing Laurencekirk around 7.40 - those wanting to join us be at the layby south of Laurencekirk - we won't stop - just join on - proceeding south we will pass by Forfar (McD's) around 8.05 - those wanting to join us be at a layby south of Forfar and join on as we aren't stopping - moving on to Dundee - we will be passing the BP station south of Dundee on the A90 around 8.40 then from there down to Tesco at South Queensferry for 9.15.

These times are a guideline only and they should allow us to take a fairly leisurely drive down the road so please be at the designated area in plenty of time. If you want a note of my mobile number to check on the progress of the convoy send me a PM and I will give you it.

If you plan on joining the convoy, put up a post to let us know where to expect you to join us.

Looking forward to the event and going to keep our fingers crossed that the weather is as good as last year
