Does anyone know of a Auto locksmith in our area (or even Central Belt) who will make me a spare key for my Fiat?

Arnold wants to charge me over £200.00 ... which is crazy ...

I cant seem to find anyone that will help via yellow pages/ googl etc ...

I had a key done for my GTV a few months ago and it only cost £35 (although the first Timpsons i went to at Bridge of Don tried to charge me £70, so a few days later i went to the Timpsons in Sainsbury's at Berryden and he did it for £35)

Does that work for the remote central locking etc ? I think the key needs linking to the engine management systems?

All they do is clone the micro chip that is in your original key that you have.

My spare key that they did doesnt have the button on it for opening the doors but i just use the key in the lock to open the door, which is fine seeing as its only a spare.

Just take your key in to Timpsons and he will read the micro chip inside the key and tell you if he can copy it!

I tried to get a spare key made at the Timpsons in Union Street and the one by the Debenhams shopping centre and neither of them could do it, the one in Union Street said they could do it but then their machine wouldnt fit the 156 key..........so you might as well avoid them

Timpson by Sainsbury's Bridge of Dee said they couldn't do it, but the woman seemed a bit clueless... I'll try the berryden one this week.

the prices are quite high to be honest - I got quoted £189 for a remote version or £109 for a non- remote key in London by Lost Car Keys | Broken & Lost Car Key Replacement | Remote Fob Keys | Programme Transponder Key . Obviously I chose the non remote and I am happy with it, but still 100 quid is too much
