Sensible choice

Our old S-reg Punto used as a shuttle between my work and where the wife works looks to be knackered.

Being sensible, a cheap car to drive two three mile runs a day = another Punto.

So we have bought a replacement. Collecting it on Friday.

Just not sure yet if it will turn out to be a "sensible" choice........but its a 2 litre twinny so its the "economy" version

The wheels may need to go - anyone looking to swap for a set of originals, please let me know.

great choice.
I am thinking about putting my GTV (TS) into daily action as the economical choice over the GTA.

Have fun in it

Made it home last night. Needs a bit of fettling before regular use (n/side CV joint clicking, bit of a "whirring" noise just above idling speed so belts, tensioners and water pump on urgent list!) Otherwise a good wee car.

The dreadful Ripspeed CD Player has been immediately replaced by a JVC headunit and the chrome "pimp my ride" wheels will be next on the list. They are 100+ 18" multifits and they need some serious cleaning! Mind you the tyres are all almost new and the same size as my GT....

Probably stick the spare 156 teledials on for now. I will try 5mm spacers - not a great fan of spacers unless they are hubcentric, but 5mm still leaves plenty of the hub centre for the wheel to sit on - to bring the offset closer to the GTV's.

I will post some photos when the gale stops howling!

"When you sit in a Focus RS or a Golf R32 it’s like sitting in a commercial for Lynx aftershave. When you sit in an 147 GTA it’s like sitting in a Venetian’s hand-made suitcase." J.Clarkson 2003.

Current fleet: Alfa GT Q2, GTV 3.0 V6 Lusso, Stilo Multiwagon jtd Dynamic,
Projects: Spider S4, 156 SW 1.8 Veloce, Matra Murena 2.2
