Re: Next Meet summer '08???

from:aberdeen to:Oyne to:Insch to:Kennethmont to:craigellachie to:Archiestown to:Grantown on spey to:Corgarff to:Tarland to:Aberdeen - Google Maps

Is more what it will be like including getting to and from aberdeen, about 160mile round trip if you want to stay on the bendy stuff, which is fine by me

Meant to say Craigellachie would be a good place to meet folk coming from further north, stop for refreshments and the northereners can head back up towards Huntly when we pull off to head to Tarland

Re: Next Meet summer '08???

I second that !

I dont mean any offence by this BUT,to take 5 weeks to discuss and not even a route or date yet is not acceptable.

A regional rep is required to be at a run,but when there is a conflict of interest,i mean by that as Andrew has plenty of other things going on in his life without AO,then things IMHO are taking way too long.

We are in July and at this rate there maybe time for 1 or possibly 2 runs before winters back again!

At least ive been upfront about

D

Re: Next Meet summer '08???

Sorry guys, i agree this has taken longer than i wanted to organise but i have had a few things on my mind lately, mainly my mother going into hospital and now my parents deciding they want to move to laurencekirk. I have been under a lot of stress the past few weeks and had no time.

I have been thinking about my position here with regards to what has been happening lately. Potentially handing in my notice after a full year, but I have not yet decided.

I will make up a route tonight, no doubt at midnight. The date i am not willing to change.

Andrew.

Guy's firstly thanks for the comments.

Geordie firstly it isn't essential that the Rep attends many other regions successfully hold meets that the Rep has not attended or organised.

Andrew and I have agreed that if any AO N. Scotland members want to post an event thread that's perfectly acceptable as long as You send Andrew a PM to let him know what's going on

Andrew will be setting a date and posting a chioce of runs for the Majority to agree, Don't forget you can't please all of the people all of the time.

The last point I'd like to make is that all AO staff are volunteers that have full time jobs and families so a little patience and co operation is all ways appreciated.

Don't forget it's the members and their Reps make a region what it is not Just the Rep

Thanks
Tony

Re: Next Meet summer '08???

I was just looking to see if this was feasible for me and Mr PG to attend, but it's maybe a little ambitious - unless we are weekending it. I'd be interested in hearing what date you settle on Andrew

Re: Next Meet summer '08???

Yes i am fully aware of your comments Tony

I do not just spout off,i do give thought b4 i make posts on the site

Nobody has disagreed that 5 weeks of discussions is too long, well i was told that rep's do require to be at a run,so that information was incorrect.

I sympathise with Andrew's current situation, although i was not aware of his points he made above i was aware he was very busy doing dogs and computers.

Notifying Andrew of an event thread by PM,I see what your trying to say as in keeping the regional rep updated, but the AONS Rep is THE biggest visitor from this area to the site and so is fully aware of what is being posted.

I dont want to get into every comment you have made and the fact that you have made the post mostly for my attention,i think my answers above show all i wish to do is improve the current situation.

Derek, (and everyone)

I have been being quiet about my situation as i wanted to keep it to myself, my plan was to have one more meet and step down gracefully afterwards. I was trying hard in hope that no one noticed.

Meet rsvp topic to go up Today and i am setting a date for sunday the 13th. We shall decide a route when we get there

PG, you are more than welcome of course
