The next meet.

Once again, gathering interest and ideas for the next AONS meet.

The SS region is having a meet later on this month so i think the next NS meet should be in March.

Please post any requests for date/day/time and i will see if i can arrange something to suit all of us. This time i am thinking something to north of aberdeen, Nothing too far though, it's still cold outside maybe out inverurie way.

Re: The next meet.

Thainstone Mart @ Inverurie is an ideal place to meet up as its just off the thainstone roundabout(main rd)

Me and the bike club used to head out towards huntly and and hang a left at the roundabout and out over the Cabrach(awesome rd)plenty of open country with more twists and bends than you can shake a stick at

Nice Cafe @ huntly roundabout for a cuppa before the excitement starts

Cabrach can bring you round in a big loop and come back Insch area

That's my twopence worth!

Derek

Re: The next meet.

Here goes-

A96 Thainstone-Huntly 20 mls
A97 Huntly-Mossat 15 mls
A944 Mossat-Aberdeen 25Mls

Total approx 60 Mls
Time incl cuppa 3hrs approx this is again subject to some piccies

As you well know Andrew, the 944 comes back through Westhill so could be handy to finish the day

This route can be shortened if this seems a little much, but it's something to consider.

Awesome scenery up in the hills, one of my favourite roads in the n/east if you get the weather

Re: The next meet.

Sounds good. Not too long either. (last runout i went on was over 100 miles!!)

I am a bit reluctant to do any runouts at the moment though as i only have half a radiator. Hopefully should be fixed by then though.

Re: The next meet.

Hi all. I somehow managed to miss all notice of the first meet, how did it go? A run in March sounds like a good idea, just right to blow the cobwebs out of the exaust. Are we looking at evenings or weekends?

The first meet was great fun, only a little one to start off the year though. I am hoping this next meet will be the first of the proper meets.

it will be a weekend. Need to check my schedule before i can confirm a day, date and time though.

Additional, are you, by any chance, the Black alfa 166 with the private/personal plate that i have seen driving about? at westhill petrol station tonight and let me out onto the A90 at stonehaven a while back ??

Re: The next meet.

That would sound good, would be nice to meeet some fellow clover folk up here, but with the weather at the moment up here and the hills from me to you it would be hit or miss on the day if I could get over. March normally being the snowiest time of the year up here that is.

Re: The next meet.

Weather?

13 Degrees today and blue sky !

As i'm a skier,i'm not happy with this at all,but i would gladly take a day like this for a run out in the hills in march

Freezing fog and just nudging +1 tops in the garden today up here on the Moray coast, and with the forecast predicting worse to come, I hope it's over with soon.

Re: The next meet.

Still waiting on hearing back from my insurance before deciding on whether or not to hold a Run out. Depending on what happens i might be able to come but my revs will strictly be below 4500rpm. any higher and i am afraid my radiator might spring a leak.

Date wise, probably towards the end of the march. Everyone, let me know if there are any days you CANT make it and i will see if i can arrange the best day for everyone. Formal topic will go up when everything is finalised

Looking at the 29th/30th of this month, venue still undecided, but assuming my car has been fixed, hopefully the Huntly idea.
