Anyone familiar with this car?

Newbie to the site and I am just after an opinion on a car.

I am after a GT , preferably a cloverleaf and have noticed a car for sale in Blyth.
It is a Cloverleaf GT and is t the top end of my price range.
I have not managed to have a proper look at it yet but I have a couple of things I would like your advice on.

Ebay item number - 130660549308

It has the cloverleaf badge on the front arches. Does this make it the Q2 170 BHP version?
Secondly, should I try and save a bit more and go for a members car such as the blue Q2 in the classifieds?
Any and all opinions are greatly appreciated.

John

Hi John, don't know the car but I did spot it as we drove past that dealer yesterday. If it's a 170 it will have a sport button on the centre console next to the handbrake. The 150 will still put a big smile on your face. Good luck with your search.

Cloverleaf badges on wings would indeed indicate a Q2. Mine has them.

As Seamus says the sport button is the dead giveaway.

Ros does yours have a QV on the tailgate next to the GT badge? The car John is looking at has wing and tailgate badges.

No it doesn't. Normal Cloverleaf got tailgate badge, Q2 got wing badges. Neither should have both, but as we both know, badges can be added or removed to suit.

I thought the same.
I might pop in and see if it's got the sport button next time I'm passing to satisfy my/our curiosity.

50p to me then.
It's got a sport button!
Had a quick look this afternoon before the salesman could catch me. They obviously don't know it's a 170, the description on the vehicle is the same as on the website. It looks tidy enough although the satin chrome grille looks a bit shabby and there's a lot of chips/small cracks in the right hand headlight.

Can I pay in installments?

Alexanders replaced my grill for me when I bought the car. Don't think they're too expensive. Not sure about headlights though.

That car is £2000 less than I paid for mine 7 months ago. Mine has just clocked 46,000 miles.

In my opinion, Atlantico blue is more desirable colour as its only available on the Cloverleaf models.

Looking at the pictures of the car on eBay, the headlights don't seem to match.

HI

Thanks for having a quick look Seamus, Much appreciated. I assume that any bits of damage like that can be used to get a better price on the car?

If I did go for a car like that I would want to get a few months of ownership out of it before I was worried about replacing cosmetic parts like the grill. (Or am I deluding myself ?)

Get money off and get it sorted immediately.

It'll want a cambelt and water pump at 50,000 miles too.

Hmmm

Hi all

I managed to have a quick look at the car today,
There was just one thing that may be a problem,
There are 2 vertical scratches in the drivers side window.
They looked quite deep in that I could catch them with my thumb nail.

Would they be easy to polish out or would the window need replacing?

John

Sounds like it would need replacing to me.

What did you think of the rest of the car?

How did I miss that? Too busy looking for the sport button and dodging the salesman I suppose.

Rest of the car seemed fine
Couple of slight dings down the passenger side. Bizarre chip marks on the drivers side headlamp
and the touched up grill as mentioned by Seamus,
Wheels appeared spotless and loads of tread on the tyres.
Looks as though it may have stood a while
When I asked him to turn it over the battery was flat,

The service book had stamps for a Ferrari/Maserati sevice centre in Swindon.

If I can find a reasonable price for the window I think I will pop over for a test drive.
Took my brother with me and all he said was "It's gorgeous"

John
